It's no wonder that a town with a population of under 7,000 people can support an event like the STURGIS BIKE RALLY that has attracted over 500,000 people annually for the last 3 summers.

Who knows what 2008 will bring to the legendary Main Street in the county seat of Meade County. Without a devoted group working year round in the City of Sturgis' Rally Department, it would be an impossible feat!

Like Cavalry who rode into town hundreds of years ago, bikers from all over the United States and Canada ride in on their bikes driven by their own version of "horsepower". They take part in poker runs, that would have put the famed local card shark of old, Poker Alice, to shame. Men and women, alike, take part in contests of strength and skill like the men who flowed into the town during the Black Hills Gold Rush. But, a lot HAS changed...
I bet they didn't have a Pickle Lickin' contest back then!
