Missing one opportunity leads to another

So I know I missed my entry yesterday for the Wednesday rant-day post, but it was for good reason. I was checking out my local bike nights calendar and saw that Quaker Steak & Lube, in Clearwater, was doing something that I just couldn't pass up. Every Wednesday QSnL has a huge bike night. I'm almost certain that it is the largest weekly bike night in all of Florida. Well, yesterday they were having their "Lady's Bike Night" in honor of Mother's Day which is this Sunday (call your moms fellas). I figured what better chance would there be to meet and greet the local riders of the fairer sex. I wasn't disappointed either. I'll be posting details of the event with lot's of pics this weekend. I still need to get all the stuff I got gathered together and sorted out.

So here's my rant for the week:
Florida's roads SUCK! They have to be the most boring roads in the long sad history of boring roads. These roads are straight as a laser beam, and flat as an ice-skating ring. The most excitement I had the whole trip was riding over the suspension bridge on I-275 that brings you into the St. Petersburg area. I spent around two and a half hours in a full tuck going over 80mph the whole way, and I could have slept through it and never driven off the road.

So tell me - what are the roads like in your area? Would you trade exciting riding opportunities for year-round riding? let me know in the comments.
